Putting ‘Proposal’ in Quosal

The secret to Quosal’s proposal management is simple: Deep integration to Microsoft Office, and particularly Word and Excel.

Not at all. We want to use them for what they’re great at. Where we wouldn’t use Word to integrate with our CRM systems, accounting processes, or real time pricing and availability of products, it’s the perfect tool to flexibly create and manage the narrative and format of a 30-page proposal.

Similarly, Excel is the perfect tool for our ROI calculator – it’s flexible, allows creative and attractive formatting, and once we’ve fed it the key numbers from Quosal, it can embed directly to our proposal document in Word.

The Quosal Microsoft Word Add-In

With the Word add-in and Table Editor, you can:

  • Place individual quote data elements in a “mail merge” fashion
  • Format the place elements with full Word formatting capability
  • Preview your data elements interactively (Office/Word 2007 and later)
  • Place entire proposal sections as Tables in the document with a single merge tag
  • Freely format the table layout with the Quosal Word Table Editor
  • Use the same or as many different Table Format templates as desired

Word Template Management

With the Quosal Word Template manager, you can track, modify, and merge your proposal content to as many document templates as you need. Proposal templates, contract templates, even quote templates if you prefer to use Word for your quote form management. You can have a single template for all proposals, or create variations for each customer as desired. You can merge and re-merge your Quosal data into your word templates as many times as necessary as revisions and corrections are made.

Proposal Document Management

Quosal does a great job of managing the proposal documents you create, giving you a complete audit trail of every saved document:

  • Documents can be stored locally or in the central database
  • Document creation and revision numbers stored with each document.
  • Stored documents can be merged to again to create new documents
  • Documents published and sent via Quosal are automatically stored in the database
  • Stored documents are available for storage in selected CRM system

Microsoft Excel Add-In

The Quosal add-in for Microsoft Excel allows you to merge data fields and content from Quosal directly to Excel, giving you precise control in a totally repeatable process. Quote totals, section-level totals, and line items are all available to merge into Excel for analysis, specialty calculation and formatting (such as your ROI Calculator), and more. Excel documents can be embedded directly into your proposal template.

Quosal also features a one-button merge to Excel with each Quosal section merging to its own worksheet within Excel. This provides an easy way to see and review all of your Quosal data in a familiar format, with other interfaces and tools possible from your Excel library.
